Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments of the year due to a health issue she has been fighting for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training will include coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together in 2026.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the third set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has affected her during parts of the season.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after more than three years for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one made the last eight of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
