An esteemed Russian military figure has been killed following an blast in Moscow, according to reports from authorities.

The attack took place on Monday morning when an bomb placed beneath a vehicle exploded, leading to the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.

Sarvarov held the position of the head of the armed forces' department for training operations.

Authorities stated that one possible explanation suggests the alleged involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services. To date, Ukraine has not issued a comment.
